Qalis, headquartered in Paris, was founded in 2011 by Romain de Boissieu, who serves as the managing partner. Alastair Newton is the President of the strategic committee. Qalis serves international institutions, including asset managers and hedge funds.”

Romain started his career in 2004 at Lehman Brothers, selling European equities to French institutional investors. As a member of the Parisian equity salesteam, he worked in close cooperation with the research team. In October 2008, Romain pursued his career at Nomura accomplishing the same tasks but acting as a vice president. He left Nomura in August 2011. Romain holds a MSc in finance from Paris IX Dauphine University.

Marion spent 6 years in marketing and communication departments of various companies: Mollat, Bébé9, AG2R La Mondiale. From 2011 to 2013, she worked for Cdiscount.com, #1 in French e-commerce. She then left to become a content editor (freelance). She joined Qalis in April 2015. Marion holds a Bachelor degree in communication from Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle.

Alastair Newton

Co-founder & Director of Alavan Business Advisory Ltd since 2015, Alastair is a former career diplomat with the British foreign service (1985-2005). He was Senior Political Analyst at Nomura International plc between October 2008 and July 2015, having first joined Lehman Brothers International in that capacity in 2005. He also led the Frankfurt-listed investment fund, African Development Corporation (ADC) for several years up to its acquisition by Bob Diamond's Atlas Mara. Alastair brings years of experience in business development, government relations and political analysis.
